I found it hard to find time to complete any pages for my Get Messy Magic Season leading up to Christmas, because, you know, DECEMBER!! Gosh it’s a busy time. I did however manage to find time when we finally stopped and went away on holiday. I gathered all of my supplies and piled them into a box and my ever patient husband looked at said box, but didn’t utter a word and carried it up the four flights of stairs to our top floor holiday apartment.
I know he was thinking that that box would sit in a corner for the entire week and would never be opened. But his thoughts were wrong. I don’t know if it was the inspiring scenery or the time to do whatever the hell I pleased but I painted and drew and wrote and experimented. I managed to get about six pages done.
And now that the madness of Christmas has passed, I have managed to get a few more pages finished in this week between Christmas and New Year. I love the holidays. I love the lack of rushing and the slower pace to the days. I love having the time to play and read and sit and think. Life feels good at this time of year.
These will probably be the last pages I do for this season of magic. I’ve really enjoyed the magic I have discovered. There is so much to explore. I wish I could do more and in fact I probably will. We don’t start the next season until January so I still have time to keep playing. Whether I share them here or not I’m not sure, because there is so much more I have planned for this little blog. But I’ll tell you all about that in another post.
So here are my pages for the Get Messy Season of Magic. Some of them are double page spreads, others not. Some I love, some I like, others not so much. But it’s all about experimenting and having fun, right?!
So there you go. My layouts for the Season of Magic. They are all a bit different and they were all a lot of fun to make. It’s such a therapeutic thing to do, this art journalling. I would love to spend more time creating pages and experimenting with different techniques and supplies. Hopefully the New Year will see some time freed up for me to create more – just for me!
