How lovely when you meet someone from the other side of the world in this wonderful space of the world wide web who you share a real connection with.
Through my online shop Sew Crafty Goodness I was contacted by the lovely Patricia of Modernism and Vintage who was looking for sponsorship on her blog. Her handmade items (I love her bow tie necklaces) and beautiful photography really grabbed me and after some discussions I decided to go ahead.
The really awesome part of all of this were the things we had in common. She, too, is a graphic designer trying to find her path in this world and has discovered the joys of handmade. And then the realisation that Patricia is from a town in Spain called Vigo. Just two years ago our family spent a lot of time in this particular region of Spain (Galicia) and we fell in the love with the area and the people.
We have extended family in the town just next door, Tui, and it is one of those regions that I would give just about anything to go back to again. Sigh..
|This is a shot of Tui taken from Valenca (Portugal) across the River Minho. You can see the beautiful Tui Cathedral in the centre.|
But anyway back to Patricia … she received a little package of goodies from me recently (including some of our lovely Korean fabric and lace tape) and has featured them on her blog. Have a look and you’ll see her gorgeous styling and photography. Can’t wait to see what she makes with this lot.
|Aaaww – she even included the little note that I wrote for her.|
