So much inspiration this year. Here’s a look at the best of the best…
I admit I have a bit of a magazine obsession but given my limited budget this year I’ve had to restrict myself to just one magazine a month. It was a toss up between Frankie Magazine and Mollie Makes but in terms of crafting goodness Mollie Makes is the winner. I must admit though I sneakily purchase the odd Frankie.
I know there was a time before Pinterest but I just can’t remember what I did with myself … Given my OCD personality Pinterest at times can be a little bit dangerous but I wouldn’t have it any other way.
I adore all things French and Appoline’s creations just make me want to crawl into her world and only come out for the occasional Nutella crepe. Have a look at her whimsical, fantasy world of dolls, elves and animals and try not to be enchanted.
There is something about Mel Stringer‘s artwork that I just get – it sits well with my love of kawaii style quirkiness. I’ve especially been inspired this year by her 3D printable PDF’s. Who knows – maybe 2014 will be the year when I have a bit of an attempt at making some of my own.
My absolute favourite blog this year has been “Messy Nessy Chic“. She manages to cover most of the topics that I am interested in : Paris, nostalgia, abandoned and lost, quirky, history and stories that matter. To give you an idea of some of the posts this year : “In the Midst of a Warzone there’s an Afghani Skateboarding School for Girls”, “The 1970’s Cold War Era Home – Built 26 feet underground”, “The Fake Townhouses Hiding Mystery Underground Portals”, “Ten Inspiring Bookshops Around the World”, “The Dollhouse for Your Stay in Paris”, “Lost Paris: Documenting the disappearance of a Medieval City”, “The Clandestine Paris Party Planners with a taste for the Abandoned”, and my favourite “My Secret Champs Elysees Garden”. So next time I’m in Paris I will have somewhere to stay and a new garden to discover. Be sure to pay a visit to this treasure of a blog and while away the hours getting lost in Paris and history.
And last but certainly not least the VW Campervan Tent. For years I’ve wanted my very own VW Campervan and realising this wish was way beyond my budget I was ecstatic to see this super-cool tent version. On my to-do list next year is more camping and nothing could make camping more stylish than this.
Of course nothing was more inspiring for me this year than my family and friends and you my lovely readers. Whatever your plans are for tonight have a great New Year’s Eve and I’ll see you in 2014.
What inspired you this year?
